Please join us for the annual Northeast Shellfish Sanitation Association Meeting to be held on March 8th and 9th at the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH. For Directions: http://www.seacoastsciencecenter.org/about/contact.php

This year’s topics will include Shellfish Restoration, Aquaculture Industry Development, Nutrient Bioextraction and Harmful Algal Bloom/PSP issues. Please see the draft agenda for details. A finalized agenda will be sent prior to the meeting.

Those planning to attend should submit a registration form via fax to (603) 559-1510 attn: Carol Elliott or email to: Carol Elliott (Carol.Elliott@des.nh.gov) no later than February 21, 2011. If unable to attend in person, video conferencing is available. The registration fee for video conference is $10.00 per person. Video conferencing availability is limited and a video conference form must be filled out and returned no later that February 17th. (Video Conference Form Instructions)

Registration fees of $60.00 for 2 days or $35.00 for a single day are payable at the start of the meeting and include continental breakfast, lunch and facility/IT fees. Cash or checks accepted. Join us at the historic Sugden House located within the Seacoast Science Center on Tuesday evening, March 8th from 5-7pm for an evening reception that will include fresh local oysters provided by Little Bay and Island Creek Oyster Companies, warm hors d’oeuvres and desserts for a fee of $20.00 per person. For those interested, a technical workshop for prospective aquaculturists in the State of New Hampshire will be held on Thursday March 10th from 9am - 12pm at the Seacoast Science Center. The workshop, led by Dr. Ray Grizzle from the University of New Hampshire, will include speakers from the NH Fish and Game Department, NH Department of Environmental Services Wetlands Bureau and the NH Department of Health and Human Services. This workshop is intended to familiarize prospective aquaculturists with state regulatory requirements and to provide information on various aquaculture techniques.
